My Ted X Talk

Ok, I am a little shy to post this, but I put so much work and stress into it that it would be a shame for me to not share. To be honest, I never considered doing a Ted X talk. My friend, Dave Stone said he was going to send in an application to do it and somehow convinced me to do it too. I reasoned that it may be a good way to get my message about backyard beekeeping out to the world if it was meant to be there. Since the theme was Voices, it made sense to me that I could speak for the bees.
Well, anyway, I did apply and I did audition, and I did do a Ted X talk. It’s not great, it’s barely good, but here it is.
Saving the World One Hive at a Time
I love sharing my story with bees and letting people know that when I first moved to Phoenix I was terrified of KILLER BEES. The media did its job to create a frenzy of fear that made me want to kill an entire swarm of bees because I thought they were going to come after my family. I think that experience gives me a great insight into what YOU might be feeling when encountering bees in Arizona. I’m here to tell you that the bees are not on the hunt for us. We may stumble or crash into their homes and cause them to react in defense, but we don’t need to fear them in general. I speak for the bees.
